What We Offer
At the Jamaican Canadian Association of Alberta (JCAA), we believe every student deserves a strong start to the school year. That’s why we’re proud to offer our Backpack Program, supporting middle, junior high, and high school students across Calgary.
Each backpack is thoughtfully filled with essential school supplies—such as notebooks, pens, pencils, and more—providing students with the tools they need to thrive in the classroom.
Our mission is to ease the financial burden on families while empowering students to focus on learning and success. This program is made possible through the generous support of our local community. We welcome donations of new school supplies, financial contributions, and volunteers to help assemble and distribute the backpacks.

For Families:
If you are a parent or guardian and would like your child to receive a backpack, please reach out to us using the contact link below. Supplies are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage early registration.
For Donors:
Your support can change a student’s school year. By donating school supplies or funds, you help ensure students are well-equipped and confident on their first day. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
For Volunteers:
We’re looking for passionate individuals to help assemble and distribute backpacks. Whether you can spare a few hours or offer ongoing support, your time and energy are greatly appreciated.
